Overview Waykeeper is an emergency preparedness and survival skills app. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it’s used, and your choices.

The short version: Waykeeper stores all your data locally on your device. We do not collect, sell, or share any personal information with third parties.

  1. Data We Collect We collect no personal data. Waykeeper does not require you to create an account, provide your name, email address, or any other personal information.

  2. Data Stored On Your Device Waykeeper stores the following data locally on your iPhone to provide its features:

Skill progress & favorites — which skills you’ve read and bookmarked Quiz scores & streaks — your learning history and achievement data Supply inventory — items, quantities, and expiration dates you enter Checklists — custom preparedness checklists you create Map markers — locations and notes you save on the survival map App preferences — your chosen settings (notifications, sound, etc.) This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly enable iCloud Backup or export a PDF.

  1. iCloud Backup (Optional) If you enable iCloud Backup in Settings, Waykeeper syncs your progress, inventory, and checklists to your personal iCloud account using Apple’s iCloud Key-Value Storage. This data is:

Stored in your private iCloud account — only accessible by devices signed into your Apple ID Protected by Apple’s iCloud encryption Not accessible to us — we cannot read, access, or retrieve your iCloud data You can disable iCloud Backup at any time in the app’s Settings.

  1. Location Data Waykeeper requests access to your location only when you are using the map feature. Your location is used to:

Show your current position on the survival map Help you plan routes and pin nearby landmarks Your location data is:

Used only on-device — it is never sent to our servers or any third party Accessed only while the app is in use (not in the background) Never stored or logged by the app You can revoke location access at any time in your iPhone’s Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Waykeeper.

  1. Notifications Waykeeper may request permission to send you local notifications for:

Supply expiration reminders Daily survival tips Learning streak reminders These notifications are generated entirely on your device. No data is sent to any external server. You can manage or disable notifications in your iPhone’s Settings at any time.

  1. PDF Exports Waykeeper allows you to export checklists, skills, and supply lists as PDF documents. These files are generated locally on your device and shared only through the standard iOS share sheet — we never receive copies of your exports.

  2. Third-Party Services Waykeeper uses no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We do not integrate with any external data collection services.

  3. Children’s Privacy Waykeeper does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. The app contains educational survival content appropriate for all ages.

  4. Data Deletion Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete all Waykeeper data at any time by:
